About Us
Welcome to Bush Bees.
Bush Bees an organisation that is incredibly passionate about Australia's native bees. The happiness and health of our bees comes first in everything that we do.
Bush Bees began as a small project in 2018, and has since flourished into what it is today - an organisation entirely dedicated to native bees, keeping them, helping others keep them, and sharing their produce!
Our Locations
We keep hives at many locations around the East coast of NSW & Queensland - such as host homes and 'bee sanctuaries'. Take a look at a couple of our locations below!
About Isaac
I'm Isaac Mayer, the 18 year old founder of Bush Bees.
Since I was a child I have always been interested in nature and animals, and from the moment I discovered native bees I was hooked. I would beg my parents to drive me to the nearest community garden, just so I could sit in front of the resident beehive, watching the bees coming and going for hours on end.
Eventually, I managed to save up enough money to buy my very own colony. I was thrilled! Soon enough, the hive was ready to be split - and then I had two hives. And then four. And then eight. Before I knew it I was looking after over 250, 000 bees in dozens of hives.
In 2018, at the age of 14 I decided to begin Bush Bees, as a way to share the passion that I had for these bees with the world.
I never looked back.
