Position summary:

Ideal for a university student, this flexible role encompasses a wide variety of the tasks involved in running a beekeeping start-up. You will be helping with both looking after bees, and for a large part, assisting with the administrative work that goes on behind the scenes. You will learn life-long skills in marketing, customer service, and business management - and have fun along the way.

The right candidate will be passionate, dedicated, and someone who truly cares about bees and the environment.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Management of social media accounts

  • Responding to emails, comments, and calls from customers

  • Collaborating with other team members on new product ideas

  • Product production and order fulfilment

  • Managing existing marketing campaigns and developing new ones

  • Manning market stalls and discussing products with customers

  • Communicating with current and potential retailers

  • Stingless beekeeping activities such as hive installation, maintenance/inspections, hive splits, and honey harvesting for both our colonies and client colonies

  • Recording and maintaining simple financial records in our software 

Skills and experience:

  • Strong communication skills

  • Experience or education in marketing is preferred 

  • Experience in customer service is preferred

  • No experience in stingless beekeeping required, although this job will probably be a better fit if you have an interest in bees

Hours and compensation:

  • 6-10 hours per week (when these are is quite flexible, opportunity for increased hours)​​

  • $25 - $30 / hour
