Rescues.

We do rescues!

If you find an Australian Native Stingless Beehive that needs to be moved, feel free to contact us. Examples of places that hives would need to be moved from: Telstra boxes/water meter pits, inside trees that are being cut down, etc. We provide this rescue service for free in the Sydney area. We will safely transfer the hive into a suitable box, relocate it, and do our best to aid it's recovery.

At Bush Bees, we highly discourage the unnecessary destruction of a bee colonies' natural habitat for the purpose of moving them to a man made hive. The exception to this is, of course, if the tree/location of the hive places it in danger, for example if a trunk fell down, and into many pieces, exposing the colony to the elements and pests, or if it is in a telstra pit or water meter that will need to be cleaned out for inspection purposes.

Rescuing a colony of Bush Bees can be a risky task, and if you are not sure about what to do, it is generally best to contact an expert. We have over 5 years of native stingless beekeeping practical and theoretical experience.

Please note that we are unable to rescue honey bee hives.
